
Meet George
George W. Peters focuses his practice on all aspects of commercial, construction, and real estate law. George acts as counsel to a diverse roster of clientele on corporate formation and governance, commercial leases, complex real estate financings, commercial and residential purchases and sales, IDA benefits applications, zoning applications, and construction contracts, as well as commercial, construction, and real estate related litigation matters.
Prior to forming George W. Peters, P.C., George was an Associate in the real estate and land use & zoning practice groups at one of Long Island’s largest full-service law firms and General Counsel to a private equity firm focused on deploying capital and managing investments in the Southeast United States senior housing submarket. George started his legal career as an Associate at several law firms on Long Island and New York City representing cooperatives, condominiums, homeowners’ associations, landlords, and construction companies in a wide variety of transactional matters and litigations in the New York courts, as well as agency lenders on multifamily acquisition and refinance transactions across the United States.
George earned his Juris Doctor at night from Brooklyn Law School, where he was awarded the Real Estate Law Certificate with Distinction and was a member of the Corporate and Real Estate Clinic, which continues to receive widespread acclaim for its pro bono work across the Five Boroughs. George graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from SUNY Cortland, where he was a member of the National Political Science Honorary Society, Pi Sigma Alpha.
George is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
